This tool generates phylogenetic trees using methods from the ClustalW2 package, using protein multiple sequence alignments (MSAs) as input.
- Simple Phylogeny only accepts protein MSA inputs (Users cannot use the tool to perform a MSA).
- Using Clustal Omega to perform an MSA gives the option to directly submit MSA results to Simple Phylogeny (via the "Results Viewers" tab).
- Each sequence must have a unique name or the program will fail.
- Basic but precious to get a first view.
Simple Phylogeny is very easy to use.
